Infrastructure Updates
New Wellsite at 58 Broadway
A Purchase and Sale agreement was signed March 29,2006 for $435,000.00. The district has been awarded a land grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for $207,500.00. This wellsite when developed must include a filtration plant for manganese removal per DEP.
New Bedrock Wellsite and Filtration Plant
The District continues its exploration for potential well sites. A ten day continues pump test and a filtration plant pilot study was done in March on the new bedrock site located on the Districts property behind King Philip III Wellsite at 1 Arrowhead Lane. Information on the results was not available at this time. The district will have an informational meeting regarding the results and plans for the wellsite and a filtration plant in the fall of 2006.
Please check our website for details of the forth coming meeting at www.nrwd org.
District Annual Water Quality Reports
The annual water quality reports will be mailed to each resident by the required DEP July 1st deadline.
Meter Replacement
The District is continuing its program of replacing or repairing aged, non-recording and defective meters. This has increased the accuracy of water readings, which in turn generates more revenue for the district and has helped to reduce the Districts unaccounted for water which was 6.59% of the total 124,887,000 water pumped. This is down from last years unaccounted water which was 9.84%.
MTBE Class Action Law Suit -Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether
The District is still involved in the class action law suit regarding contaminations due to MTBE in the District Water Supply. There is no new information at this time.
New Hire
A full time laborer will be added on this summer to the staff due to the growth of the district in the last three years.
Website
The district is pleased to announce that we now have a website for the North Raynham Water District www.nrwd org. Information regarding rates, water conservation and other important town links can be found.
New Truck
The district purchased a 2005 Chevrolet C5500 dump truck with plow.
Merger Study
The Merger Study has been completed.
In closing, the Commissioners want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making this District a success.
Respectfully Submitted,
